  • For passbook–type accounts, a maximum annual amount of ¥1,260 (including consumption tax) is assessed as an account management fee.
  • There is a risk that interest payments and/or redemption may be delayed or impossible (default risk), or that early redemption and/ or retirement by purchase may be conducted, making it impossible to hold an investment through the original maturity date, depending on the financial hardships, etc. of the country issuing the bond.
  • As a rule, 10–year bonds cannot be redeemed less than one year from the issuance date, and 5–year bonds cannot be redeemed less than 2 years from the issuance date.
  • The amount received at early redemption is the amount less an early redemption adjustment; accordingly, the amount may be less (“loss of capital risk”) than the amount invested at the time of purchase.
  • Customers must be 20 years of age or older to engage in transactions in government bonds for individual investors via Internet banking.
