JRI to Establish New Organization for International Strategy and Appoint a Chairman for the Organization  

 

Tokyo, September 27, 2010 --- Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. (SMFG, President: Teisuke Kitayama) announced today that The Japan Research Institute, Limited (JRI, President and CEO: Yasuyuki Kimoto), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SMFG, will establish a new organization, JRI Institute for International Strategy, effective as of October 1, 2010,@in order to enhance its capability to provide international strategy related information.

 

Hitoshi Tanaka, former Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, has been appointed as Chairman of the Institute, effective as of October 1, 2010.

Chairman of the Institute)
