SMBC's operations in India are based in key cities leading the development of the country, and is supported by our three branches in New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.

In order to serve our clients’ global needs better, our offices in India are supported by an offshore team in Singapore to extend funding support to Indian corporates. The teams work closely with the global network to serve clients at a transnational level. We also have strategic alliance partners to widen the product offering to clients in-country.

Our focus in India extends beyond our business, as we contribute to the local communities meaningfully with our Corporate Social Responsibility program.

Our presence in India was established in New Delhi in December 2012, and with the Mumbai branch and Chennai branch opened in March 2017 and November  2020 respectively.
