Abu Dhabi Representative Office

TOKYO, March 17, 2014 --- Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC, President: Takeshi Kunibe) announced today that it has opened a Representative Office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The opening of the Abu Dhabi Representative Office is part of SMBC’s initiatives to further strengthen its network in the Middle East.

Abu Dhabi is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, benefiting from significant natural resources, including oil and natural gas, which together account for more than 90% of the reserves in the United Arab Emirates.  Abu Dhabi is also accelerating development of its social infrastructure, which has resulted in an increase in financing needs in this sector.  Using its experience and expertise, SMBC aims to assist Abu Dhabi’s urban development plan. 

The opening of SMBC Abu Dhabi Representative Office will enable SMBC to further expand its presence in the United Arab Emirates and support its wider network in the Middle East region. SMBC will continue to enhance its capabilities to deliver superior financial services to its clients.
