In 2023, SMBC celebrates our 60th year milestone in Singapore since establishing our presence here as a full commercial bank.

Today, we have over 1,300 employees in Singapore. It is also home to SMBC’s Asia Pacific headquarters where we provide seamless connection and access to, from and within the region.

With over 400 years of history in supporting our customers’ journeys and success as SMBC Group and 60 years from Singapore, we are looking ahead to achieving more milestones together with our customers, our people and the local community.

  Since the inception of Singapore Fintech Festival, we have been a sponsor supporting the exchange of innovation ideas for an advanced and inclusive FinTech ecosystem for 8 years and counting. In 2023, SMBC continues to sponsor this iconic global industry event.

  

  SMBC also established the bank's Asia Innovation Centre and Regional Cyber Security Centre in Singapore, both supported by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

• Advancing FinTech gamechangers for growth

  This year, SMBC Group established a US$200 million venture fund named "SMBC Asia Rising Fund" in Singapore. We look to invest in and support Asian startups with the potential to contribute to the business growth of SMBC Group.
